Cebollitas con Habanero (Red Onion/Habanero Salsa)

This salsa is for those who like things with an extra level of heat. The combination of spice, acidity, and slight sweetness will make a great compliment to any dish!

Special Equipment

  • Cutting Board

  • Tupperware container or Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 Red Onion, finely chopped

  • 2 Habanero Peppers, finely chopped

  • Juice of 5 Limes (1/2cup + 2tbsp of Juice, or 148mL)

  • ¼ tsp (2g) Salt

  • Pinch of Oregano

Method


  1. Combine the onion and habaneros in a tupperware container or bowl.

  2. Add lime juice and stir to combine.

  3. Add salt and Oregano, stir to combine.

  4. Put mixture in refrigerator. Let it sit for at least 2 hours, allowing flavors to develop.
